III. Methods of Student Evaluation
- Students will be evaluated on assigned exercises, timed writings, and final project as follows:
- For each submission due in Lessons 61-115 there will be 2 points deducted for each formatting error and 1 point for each spelling error from the total points assigned. For the Unit 24 (lessons 116-120) there will be 3 points deducted for each formatting error and 2 for each spelling.
- *Please note: Quizzes will be open book.
- Grades for timed writings come from five minute timed writing exercises taken from Parts 4, 5, and 6. Your book and the GDP website show the expected words per minute and number of errors you are allowed in each assigned timed writing. Your grade on each assignment will be based on how well you do based on the projected goal. A score of (5) means you’ve met the assignment expectations, and grades will be lowered when the goals are not achieved.
Assignments
You are only required to complete the assignments listed below, but feel free to complete other lessons that you think will be helpful to you. Please only submit the assignments below when you’re submitting work on the GDP website. You can store other lessons you complete in your portfolio, but I do not need to see them. The items followed by (TW) below are “Five Minute Timed Writing” exercises.
As you will see in the chart below, the due dates for your assignments are lumped together by “Part.” I have designed the due dates this way so that you can work at your own pace on each section for five weeks each. Please work ahead and don’t try to do all the assignments for one Part the night before the due date. You WILL NOT finish. I will grade your work on a weekly basis throughout the semester, so anything turned in early will be graded as I receive it. Grades will be posted by “Unit” in your eCampus gradebook. The grading breakdown is below.
